Go Flight!

Nice job Nasa and crew! STS-114 Discovery just had a successful launch and is ready to head to the space station.

I didn't get much, but did see the flame cone and the smoke trails. You can see the north and south exhaust trail. Glad to see us back in space!

Blading Boy

It was really awesome going rollerblading last night. I went about 5 miles in 30 minutes and that isn’t too much off my normal pace.

It was therapeutic to say the least. My neighborhood is amazing for rollerblading and I’m mad at myself that I haven’t gone before this. I will be going at least 4 times a week in hopes to further shed some of these pounds.

The shuttle is going up in 20 minutes. I am hoping for a smooth launch and have it on my pc right now. I might go outside and try to take a shot of the contrail. We’ll see

Tonight.........I blade

It has been something that I have missed doing. After making the pathetic excuse that there were no sidewalks and that was why I was absent from public viewing, I am going to get back into rollerblading tonight. I used to blade almost 20 miles a week and loved how it was for me both physically and mentally. Now my rollerblades refuse to even talk to me because I’ve neglected them so bad.

We figured out that if I blade for an hour at a good intensity level, I can burn almost 800 calories. Figure that I’m only bringing in 1500 and you see why it is so important. My weight loss will only go even faster.

I went home to Fort Myers this weekend. I had a really awesome time and drank way too much on Saturday night. If I offended anyone it was all in good fun. I didn’t get home until 10:15 last night and I’m sleepy today. I wish I could master the art of sleeping with my eyes open, then I would never be tired.

Weekend

After not being in Fort Myers for almost a month, I am going home this weekend. It will be a short visit, but I don’t know when I’ll get the opportunity to go back for a while so I’m sneaking down tonight after work.

Things are going pretty steady. I still don’t know what the future holds for Rio and I. It is still very strange not talking to her at all. I know that in time I’ll get used to it, but when you talk to someone 5 times a day for over a year and then you cease to nothing, it takes some adjustments.

Work should be fairly slow today. I am trying not to look at the clock because it makes me want to throw things and yell in Mongolian. I’m going to start rollerblading next week after work to assist in the removal of this extra weight that someone maliciously placed on me.

I can’t help but think about my friend Mike and how much his world has changed in the past few days. He’s been sending me pictures of the newborn and other things and it is really cool to see. I have no idea if I want kids or not. I think there is still a lot that I wish to do and see before I settle down in one area and feel like I’m grounded enough to raise another life.

Sean Alexander Philpotts

Say hello to the newest Philpott!

Baby Philpott

One of my best friends Mike had a son today. I am so excited for him and the mother. The baby was born 6 lb 8 oz via C-section and is healthy. It is very weird to think of my friends being parents. I now have almost a half dozen that I was very close with in school that are married and many of them have kids.

I can see the cycle of life repeating itself from when I was a kid. Now my friends will be the little league coaches, the chaperones, and the mentors. They will have the “cool houses” to play at, and the stories that all the other kids wish their dads and moms had. Life is beautiful in that way.

I’m fairy nostalgic today as I often am when a life change happens. The split with Rio has me thinking of a lot of my past and how much life changes. I can’t believe that in 5 weeks I turn 27. I can’t imagine what I will feel like when I’m 57. I hope I see 107. The weather in Central Florida is good today. It is summertime here and that means low 90s, humid as hell and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

I am planning a vacation right now to go to Ohio this fall. I always return from vacations with a new respect for life and drive to do things better. Being a better person is one of the biggest reasons I moved to Orlando.

Yo Yo

What a weekend! My family came up and visited. It was such a great time. My step-mother bought me a nice TV, and my father helped me get new patio furniture and a living room sectional. I am very happy to say that my house is actually complete and looks like a real house now. No more empty rooms or blank spaces. All that is left to do is get some artwork and make the place a little more “homey”, homie.

I think that I have insomnia. Actually I don’t but I am so tired and I never sleep enough. I would like to walk in the door tonight and accidentally fall on my new lounge chair. I’d then like to have someone come over and inject me with about 100 ml of Nyquil and call my boss to let him know I’m taking a few R&R days.

Life is good though. I am really happy with my house.

Family Time

I'm very excited about the fact that my family is coming up this weekend. I do have some sad news though; Rio and I are no longer talking. I hope that someday in the future when we both figure out who we are and what we want that we can speak again. For now we are done. Obviously there is much more than that, but it's not worth putting in a public setting. She's a wonderful person and we had about 14 months of pure joy.

In lighter news, this is how I feel today:

Monday

Well Hurricane Dennis came ashore yesterday afternoon and it sure wasn’t as devastating as we thought it was going to be. I know that is great news for those that lie in its path, but for some reason I really like the big ones. I guess it has something to do with the sheer power of something that large. There is already another storm in the Atlantic so who knows, we could be doing the same drill in 2 weeks.

Today is Monday and I am about as drowsy as a 3 year old on 5 pills of Dramamine. I have exactly 5.5 hours left of work and then I’m home to do some ad work for the station. My family is coming into town this weekend and I’m going to get a new TV and some furniture. I am very excited about that.

Other than that, life is still moving along. I made a flyer last night for a new little side business I am thinking of starting. I don’t know how long I can rot at a desk like this.

Dennis

It is very early in the hurricane season to be buying supplies but that is just what I was doing last night. Hurricane Dennis is in the Gulf now, and is expected to make landfall sometime later this weekend in the Florida panhandle. This is the first time in recorded history that we’ve had this many named storms this early in the year.

I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I’ve been on the go so much and need a weekend to myself to get some stuff done on my website and with some musical projects. I also need to get some good interrupted sleep! My eyebrows are already need re-shaping.

Atlanta was great

My friend Mike’s wedding was beautiful. I will be posting some pictures of it soon but it was a great time all in all. I really enjoyed seeing my old friends. Rio and I had a lot of fun as well. We saw a lot of the city and drank enough between us to give a buzz to the entire country of Sri Lanka.

I’m not excited to be back at work. I am staring at the clock on this PC and I swear it isn’t moving. I’m stuck in a time warp of boredom that even Spock couldn’t get out of.
