So for the .5 of you who actually read this blog, here is an update on the diet:
It is working so far. I have gone from 3000 + calories per day to about 1500 or less. It’s kind of shock but so far I’m holding up. It’s very weird to see how much less I can eat and not feel light headed or hungry. I was stuck in baseball mode when I could burn 4000 calories a day. I wish my office chair would do the same thing for me but it refused.
I’ve cut out all regular sodas and fast food. I’ve been cooking more at home and trying to avoid any serious binge drinking (save last weekend). I can already feel the change as my body starts to burn more of what I already have rather than what I’m taking in. It’s both exciting and frustrating. I still crave the bad things but have to will myself away from them. That’s always been my weakest part.
The tricky time will be in about two weeks. By then I’ll have lost 10 or so pounds and will think I should reward myself. I can’t do this because it’s where I always put in an eating session equivalent to Oprah and Rikki Lake at an all you can slam breadstick buffet.
I’m holding out for now, but someone in the office has brownies today and I’ve thought of 10 criminal acts I will do just to have one…
